ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Murray sets the gold standard
Fallon lost the first match of the season, 3-1, in September but rebounded for a 1-0 win in October to secure the No. 1 seed. Murray sealed the win with a goal off a free kick in the final 2 minutes. However, Elko would get its revenge in the third-place game of the regional tournament, 6-5, on penalty kicks to clinch the final spot in the state tournament. As for Murray's future, athletics will still be a part but not full time. She will head to the University of Oregon after choosing the school in Eugene over universities in Nevada, Portland and Virginia. She will enroll in the fall and plans to join the club soccer team. I. CALL TO ORDER David Ullman, Chair
Chairman David Ullman called the May 16, 2011 Board of Trustees Meeting to order at the Lake Wales Charters Schools Central Office at 5:00 PM.
II. PLEDGE OF ALEGIANCE
Ms. Lucy Otero, student from Polk Avenue Elementary let the Pledge of Alegiance.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Ullman called for any additions, deletions and/or corrections to the April 18, 2011 Board Work Session and Board Meeting minutes. There being none he called for a motion to approve. Motion to approve made by Terrye Howell with a second by Paige Turner. Motion passed unanimously.
IV. RECOGNITIONS –
A. PRESENTATION TO BABSON PARK ELEMENTARY
Ms. Dolores Vogel and Ms. Joni Gerard from Legacy Real Estate Center, Inc. presented a check to Principal Ken Henson for Dale R. Fair Babson Park, Elementary. Legacy has developed a program to “give back” to the schools when a person purchases a home or sells a home through them. So far this year they have “given back” over $2,000.

The students shared their art projects with the Trustees and those present.
C. FLORIDA EDUCATOR’S MUSIC ASSOCIATION BOYS CHOIRKyle Hall, Dale R. Fair Babson Park Elementary. Principal Henson noted that Mr. Hall was unable to be present when the other music awards were presented to the Trustees and he wanted to make sure that Kyle was recognized for his accomplishment.
